History

The Rhythm Doctors

The Rhythm Doctors were formed in 1990. Comprising of trumpet/vocals, guitar, double-bass and drums the band started life by playing jazz standards but soon brought in elements of comedy and surrealism and within a short time built up a large following in the south-west. By 1991 the band started playing further a field and soon had agents in Holland, Belgium, Germany and Spain as well as England.

Over the next 10 years The Rhythm Doctors performed throughout Europe and Scandinavia as well as travelling to Canada and Singapore, recorded 5 albums, won a number of prestigious awards including at the Orandgeboom Festival in Rotterdam and won the National Comedy Awards in Belgium (no, really) and appeared on a number of Dutch, Belgium, Canadian and German TV shows.

Since 2003 Jerri Hart and Andrew Marshall have continued played together along with Ruarri Joseph who switched from double-bass to guitar and although avoiding using the name, 'The Rhythm Doctors' the energy of the performances have generated a similar response to that of 'the old days' of the band.

Details of any forthcoming gigs will be posted on this site.
