HISTORY
Fatman
'It only takes a few seconds to tell that Fatman are special. From the cool poetic intro and techno funk beat, through the totally appropriate riffing trumpet to the soulful female chorus, 'Box' is weirdly brilliant and charges headlong onto our Volume 13 CD and I have every confidence it could take place in the charts in due course. The formula holds good for, 'It Doesn't't Matter What You Say', this time with muted trumpet and a soul veneer that is hauntingly familiar and the inventiveness and gospel dance atmosphere of 'Feel This' has to be heard to be believed. And all allegedly recorded on eight-track. Now its not just Aphex Twin that come from Cornwall.' - Gig UK Magazine 1996
Fatman was a recording group formed in 1990 comprising of Jerri Hart, Stanley Guffogg and Dave Lucas.
Over two years they recorded two albums and got to the point where they were offered a £1 million deal from the American recording giant, Scotti Bros.
Fatman considered the deal and agreed to it if a couple of points could be amended as suggested by their lawyer.
Scotti Bros. said they would get back to them when they had considered those points.
Fatman waited.
